In the past, if an employer wanted to update his staff’s training in certain areas he would have to send them all off to take week long (or longer) computer courses. This caused a number of problems. Number one, the staff is being trained in a setting that is different than their home office where they will be expected to implement this training. Number two, while the staff is gone being trained who has to do their jobs back home? Number three, there is also the expense of travel and lodging for the staff while they are away.

With the advent of computer based training, that is all a thing of the past. Employees can now use software at their or their employer’s convenience to train in their own setting while still performing at least some or most of the functions of their regular job. No more out of town expenses, as now the employee is getting their computer training done right at their own desk. No more trying to find full time fill-ins or temp workers, as now the employee can still do most of their own job and still learn the leadership training at their own desk.

Computer based training is definitely the way to go for most businesses. It eliminates the expenses of temp staffing and travel/lodging, while still allowing a business to function.
